Make a difference in the lives of the children at your school!

The majority of American children spend 40 hours a week or more in the school system – getting much of their food, exercise and guidance from school personnel. This presents us with a great opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children in the school system. Whether you are a school administrator, teacher or even parent - rally people in your school district to get involved by ordering a PE4life Community Action kit video and show it to other teachers, the school board, the PTA and other community leaders. You can have a direct impact on the health and wellness of our children and ultimately - our future.

Also, be sure to attend our annual Resource Conference - where you’ll get the opportunity to meet with the top physical educators in the country and learn best practices they utilize; work together and network with other PE professionals; hear from professionals who have been there, done that and are sharing their lessons learned; plus take away applicable, hands on information that you can begin implementing upon returning home and much more!

School Administrators

The pressure on school administrators has increased in recent years with the advent of No Child Left Behind mandates and related initiatives tied directly or indirectly to students’ test results in core subject areas. In programs we’ve worked with across the country, we have seen a positive tie between fitness levels and academic performance, while decreasing disciplinary incidents.

Attending a PE4life workshop certainly raised the bar for us. I’ve never seen children so excited about coming to PE class. What is going on with physical education in PE4life Training Centers should be happening in every school in America.

Teachers

PE4life is an advocate for physical education and physical activity for all. Physical education teachers have the opportunity to affect the quality of their students’ lives, giving them skills to be healthy and active for a lifetime.  Students in programs that have incorporated PE4life’s Core Principles are inspired by the opportunity to set personalized goals and be graded on effort, not athletic ability. These programs incorporate technological tools so students can develop personal responsibility through self assessment. With these tools, students are able to set goals appropriate to their individual fitness levels and check their progress as they move forward. Gone are the days of grades based solely on a stopwatch. Today’s "New PE" places more emphasis on assessing a student’s progress toward cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance goals.

My staff was so energized and enthusiastic after the visit.  They now have a vision of how physical education is taught with the "New P.E." program.  The organization, time management, structure and overall physical education classes at the PE4life Training Center has shown our staff a new outlook towards teaching P.E.  It has made a vital difference in the way physical education is taught in our school and how our P.E. teachers are viewed as educators.  The visit has also shown my staff how valuable and essential it is that we become a more fit society to benefit ourselves mentally and physically.

Parents

Parents are busy with a full workday, helping their children with homework, engaging their children in after school activities, and so on. This doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for physical activity in your own lives. Do you realize that schools have devalued and cut physical education to the point that the majority of children get one day of PE per week? Children today have a shorter life expectancy than their parents for the first time in one hundred years because of the epidemic of obesity, according to Dr. William Klish, Professor of Pediatrics and Head of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Baylor College of Medicine. Lack of PE at school is a disservice to your child’s health. Speak up! Demand that your school offers daily quality physical education.

Use PE4life as a resource partner to enhance your school’s PE program. A recent study revealed that 81% of teachers and 85% of parents favor requiring students to take physical education every day at every grade level.

Kids bring their excitement about daily activity into their families. PE4life keeps kids and famillies together: the foundation of a stronger America.
