We are branching out from the walls of the gymnasium to provide a day of exciting presentations that will benefit your Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program.  This event is designed for physical education teachers and classroom teachers, providing sessions that will help integrate activity throughout the day, regardless of setting.

The Kinesthetic Classroom: Teaching and Learning through Movement

We are proud to introduce Mike Kuczala, author of “The Kinesthetic Classroom: Teaching and Learning through Movement,” as a featured speaker.

Mike’s highly interactive session will enliven your K-12 classroom and content through the use of dynamic movement.  Participants will discover a six-level framework for using movement with a purpose, including preparing the brain, providing brain breaks, supporting exercise and fitness, developing class cohesion, reviewing content, and teaching content.  The session will fully explore the connections between fitness and cognition, implicit learning and academic success, state and classroom management, and why movement enhances the learning  Read Mike Kuczala's full biography.
 
Featuring additional kinesthetic learning presentations from Ann Grin, Grant Wood Area Education Agency and 2004 National Adapted PE Teacher of the Year; and a group of educators from Norwalk School District: Charity Campbell, PE
Teacher and 2012 Iowa Teacher of the Year, Christie Beving, 6th grade English teacher, and Melissa Stoulil, Health teacher.
